THE Vigie Multipurpose Sports Complex came alive on Saturday 13th October 2018 with two Under -19 games in Shamfest Netball Tournament. The event which is organized by the Shamrock Sports Club in collaboration with Blue Waters saw wins for Shamrock Sports Club and St. Joseph’s Convent Egrets.
In the first game Shamrock defeated the Castries Comprehensive Secondary School 38-15, as they led in every quarter.
For Shamrock Shernika Dupre netted 22 goals from 32 attempts, Angel Mathurin scored 2 from 13 attempts and Chole Aldonza 2 from 11 attempts.
Leading the way for the CCSS were Aeryn George who scored 12 from 26 attempts and Melanie Gittens netted 3 from 3 attempts.
In the second game, St. Joseph’s Convent Egrets blew away Sir Arthur Lewis Community College 43 – 8 in a lopsided affair; For SJC, Melanie Antoine scored 19 from 27 attempts, Gracie Alcide 19 from 30 attempts and Malika Destang scored 5 from 7 attempts.
For Sir Arthur Lewis Community College, Rochelle James scored 2 from 9 attempts; Nicole Nestor netted 4 from 12 attempts and Kurtisha Eugene 2 from 10 attempts.
Matches continued last evening with a double header on the card; St. Joseph’s Convent Egrets took on the Castries Comprehensive Secondary School Cardinals from 3.45 p.m. and Shamrock 1 versus Corinth Secondary 1. Results not available at press time.
On Wednesday 17th, Entrepot Secondary will take on Babonneau Secondary from 3.45 p.m. and Sir Arthur Lewis Community College plays SJC Egrets 1 at 4.50 p.m.
