Residents of Active Hill were forced into clean-up mode today after a costly landslide piled mud and rubble onto the main road.

Traffic was restricted for hours and one vehicle owner is now coming to terms with damage done to his vehicle by a fallen retaining wall.

There were no reports of loss of life and the MET Office has asked that residents of areas prone to flooding and landslides to exercise caution and remain vigilant.

  1. It appears that this wall was not reinforced at all at both wall and foundation. This is an issue DCA should look into including the practice of using loose galvanize sheets for fences in the urban areas.
