CONCACAF Women’s U15 Football: Saint Lucia Lose To Bermuda In Semifinal Round

DESPITE losing 1-0 to Bermuda yesterday in the semifinal round, Saint Lucia put on an impressive performance at the CONCACAF Under- 15 women’s tournament in Bradenton, Florida and in the process the young women wearing the yellow, black, white and blue attire has all the reasons to keep their heads high.

In their final group stage match played on Thursday 9th August against the Cayman Islands, Saint Lucia outplayed their opponents to win 4-0.

For Saint Lucia the goal scorers were Giana Hilton, Cassandra Shepherd, FreegeanneJn Baptiste and ShuquanFontenelle.

Earlier this week, Saint Lucia defeated the Bahamas 2-0 with goals from Arnika Louis and Krysan St. Louis.

In their first match, they breezed past Guyana 3-1, the goal scorers were Krysan St. Louis, Tanika Louis and Arnika Louis.

To date Saint Lucia has had seven goal scorers in the tournament. Captain, Krysan St. Louis is who leading by example has tied with Anika Louis (2) and (1) each for Tanika Louis, Giana Hilton, Cassandra Shepherd, FreegeanneJn Baptiste and ShuquanFontenelle.

Head of delegation, Emmanuel Bellas, spoke to the VOICE about the team’s performance thus far. This is what said, “Based on the performances, I think the jitters have now gotten out of them. The performances are getting better with every match and the level of comradery is at and all time high”.

He said, Having scored nine goals with seven players shows the overall effort of the entire team”.

The full squad reads – Krysan St. Louis (captain), Renala Francis, Grace Alcide, Raquel John, Yana St. Hilaire, FreegeaneJn Baptiste, Geean Henry, ShuquanFontenelle, Sabrina Avril, Giana Hilton, Cassandra Shepherd, Shaniya Scott, Alvina Francis, Tanika Bernard, Kyra St. Louis, Arnicka Louis and VerniceCelise.

In Florida, the team is under the watchful eyes of head coach – Jamil Joseph, Assistant Coach -Denis Didier, Technical Director – Cess Podd, Team Manager – Chrisie Harris and Head of Delegation – Emmanuel Bellas.
