PRESS RELEASE – SAINT Lucia’s Ricky T continues to take his and by extension the country’s soca music to new heights and into new markets. His label Stratosphere Muzic has announced his Road March winning 2017 song “Sully” has been added to the Zumba Fitness Mega Mix 64 and two of the biggest annual soca music compilations.
Wikipedia describes zumba as, “an exercise fitness programme created by Columbian dancer and choreographer Alberto “Beto” Perez that involves dance and aerobic movements with choreography that incorporates hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue and mambo.”
Approximately 15 million people take weekly Zumba classes in over 200,000 locations across 180 countries. That is unprecedented reach says the team at Stratosphere Muzic.
“Ricky T has and continues to work hard and opportunities like these are the results. He has toured extensively since the release of “Freaky Girls” in 2016 and continued with “Sully” last year. The opportunity to be featured alongside Zumba was one that was unexpected but welcomed and we have been blown away by the videos and feedback from the song,” says Stratosphere Muzic CEO Courtney Louis.
Zumba instructors have recorded routines to “Sully” and tagged Ricky T on Instagram. There are also routines to the song on YouTube. It has allowed the label to track the many countries from Germany to Puerto Rico, South America to the US who is now jamming to the Lucian soca song.
“Sully” has also been added to Soca Gold 2018 and Fox Fuse Get Soca 2018. These are two of the biggest annual compilations of soca music with featured music from noted soca artistes like Machel Montano and BunjiGarlin out of Trinidad.
