CRICKET action continues tonight, day two of the 2018 Gros Islet Domestic Cricket Tournament. The event bowled off last evening at the Gros Islet Playing Field. This year’s tournament is sponsored by the Parliamentary Representative for Gros Islet, Lenard Montoute.
The teams contesting the opening match are Goodman Warriors and defending champions Gerson Strikers. Goodman Warriors will be led by National Under – 19 playerJard Goodman and includes Windward Islands Volcanoes player Tarryck Gabriel, West Indies Under – 16 players Garvin Serieux, Millan David and Stavone Gabriel.
Gerson Strikers will be led by Windward Islands Under -17 player Simeon Gerson and includes national player Dornan Edward, Vernillius Gabriel, West Indies Under – 16 player Lee Solomon and Windward Islands Under – 15 captain AckeemAuguste.
The matches in the tournament will be 50 overs a side. One team bats on day 1 and the other on day 2.
Playing time will be from 4.30pm to 8.45pm for week day matches and from 10.00 a.m. for weekend games.
