A fire has destroyed the heartbeat of Saint Lucian culture and home to thousands of priceless and irreplaceable local artifacts, the Folk Research Centre (FRC).
Late Sunday night, fire officials responded to a fire on Calvary Road in Castries.
At press time, there were no reported injuries or loss of life and firefighters were still on the scene working studiously to extinguish the blaze.
The Folk Research Centre (FRC) is a repository for cultural heritage, a vehicle for research, study, recording and promulgating Saint Lucia’s rich heritage.
The building, a heritage tourism site, was also home to many after school programs and also doubled up as a conference center.
