The two teams have had mixed fortunes thus far in the tournament. Sandals with 1 win (61-60) over Digicel and 1 defeat (58-68) to Financial Services will want to pull all stops to salvage a win in this encounter. A defeat this evening may well see their chances of qualifying for the next round of competition falling by the wayside.

For Lewis Industries, this evening is a tall task as they must win to stay afloat. To date, they have lost both of their matches played: (70-58) to WASCO and (81-51) to defending champions Goddard Group/PCD. A defeat this evening with two matches remaining in the tournament will not cut it for them advancing into the second round.

In Game 2, defending champions Goddard Group/PCD will take on Digicel at 8:00 p.m.

The defending champions just need a win this evening to secure a quarterfinal berth. To date, they have defeated Financial Services (56-49), Lewis Industries (81-51) and WASCO (68-49). The Louison brothers Troy and Andre have been outstanding and one can expect them to turn on the heat against Digicel.

For Digicel, one can also expect them to up their game following their nail-biting 1 point defeat (61-60) against Sandals in their opening game and with three games still to play, they still have a chance of advancing to the next round.

Last evening, in games 12 and 13, WASCO took on Financial Services while Fire Services played Teachers Union.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday evening, the Civil Service Association continued their unbeaten run in this year’s tournament, defeating Royal Saint Lucia Police Force 73-61 in another exciting match on centre court.

Lance Prospere was good on the night for CSA, outdoing teammates and double KFC Players of the game against Teachers Union, Keegan Preville and Ron Du Murville, on the score sheet.

At the half-time whistle, CSA led by two points, (15-13) but going into the second quarter CSA upped the tempo, forcing the RSLPF to make a number of errors which they capitalized on to extend their lead into double figures at the halftime whistle — 37-26.

The third quarter belonged to RSLPF as they came out firing and outscored CSA by 19-16 for the first time in the encounter. They also managed to cut the deficit to take the score at the end of the third quarter at 53-45.

In the final quarter, it was the question of which team had enough energy reserved in the tank to muster the unbearable heat inside the BIPF, as well as tiring legs. CSA scored 20 points and RSLPF 16 in the quarter and final score was 73-61.

KFC Player of the Game was Lance Prospere (CSA).

High scorers for CSA were Lance Prospere 22 points, Keegan Preville (14 points, 17 rebounds, 2 blocks and 4 steals) and Ron Du Murville (18 points, 12 rebounds, 5 steals and 6 assists).

Top performers for RSLPF were Shervon Matthew (13 points and 12 rebounds), Chris Alexander (8 points) and Ulric Antoine (6 points and 10 rebounds).
