SUPERMALT, in its continued support of youth development through sports and education, signed off as an official sponsor for this year’s Inter-Secondary School Sports.
Monday, March 27 proved to be an exciting time for student athletes who powered their way through to the end of the Inter-Secondary School Championships. Thousands of students attended the sporting event held at the Daren Sammy Cricket Stadium in support of their school’s athletes.
Some of the schools present were St. Mary’s College, Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary School, Micoud Secondary School, St. Joseph’s Convent, Corinth Secondary School, and Choiseul Secondary School, all competing feverishly for the top track and field titles. The St. Lucia Boys Training Centre was also represented with their athletes showing resilience through the entire competition.
Supemalt, being the official malt sponsor of this year’s Inter-Secondary School Sports, also gave patrons the opportunity to be a part of the excitement through various promotions. Patrons who purchased Supermalt at the semifinals and finals sporting events got a chance to win a cash prize for their school and were also given the opportunity to win a smart phone by posting their predictions for this year’s top male and female athletes and top performing school on Supermalt’s Facebook page. Students also got a chance to win Supermalt hampers while enjoying the lively atmosphere of the games.
Congratulations to the Corinth Secondary School for winning the Supermalt cash prize. The winner of the Facebook promotion to be announced upon receiving the official results from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
SharleneJnBaptiste, Brand Manager Soft Drink Portfolio, stated: “The school’s sports programme over the last few years presents an opportunity for student athletes to not only represent their schools but to compete for placement on St. Lucia’s team participating in Windward Islands schools games and other national teams. Supermalt was happy to support this venture recognizing the importance of sports in the development of our youth and would like to congratulate all the participants and winners of this year’s Inter-Secondary School Sports Meet.”
