Peter & Co. Distribution Awards 24 Schols

PETER & Company Distribution, has awarded 24 scholarships and bursaries to students whose parents are employees of the company at a cost of over EC$20,000 for the coming academic year..

“ Those scholarships are made possible through the efforts of the hardworking and committed employees who work diligently and tirelessly to ensure the company’s continued success”, a statement said.

The scholarship programme is in its 24th year of existence and has been part of the company’s human resource strategy aimed at improving employee morale, motivation and retention.

“Given the current global economic challenges, this contribution is expected to be especially timely and well received by the parents. The official handing over ceremony took place yesterday at the company’s Training and Conference Room at Cul de Sac.

Peter & Co Distribution has congratulated each student who was awarded scholarships this academic year and encouraged them to pledge to strive for excellence as these scholarships are offered on the basis of consistent academic performance. The scholarship will continue into the next year, only when students obtain the minimum average passing grade of 65%. Students who fail to achieve the required pass grade of 65% will receive bursaries of a lesser value.

The company acknowledged JanaikaMomerelle, the female who achieved the highest grade. Janaika is the daughter of Nadia Momerelle of the Central Services/Finance department; followed by Tayshawn Christophe, the male who scored the highest grade. Tayshawn is the son of Sylvia Lynch of House of Wines and Spirits.
