THE new academic year, 2016-2017, at The University of the West Indies, St Augustine Campus is fast approaching and exciting opportunities await new students who will be part of this experience.
It is for this reason that The St. Lucian Students’ Association of Trinidad and Tobago (LUSATT) is hosting an orientation forum to give potential students the opportunity to inquire about and gain a holistic view of The UWI, St Augustine.
The 10:30 a.m seminar is slated for Thursday July 14, at The Sir Arthur Lewis Community College- CEHI Hall-Room 1, Morne Fortune, Castries.
The St Lucian Students’ Association of Trinidad and Tobago (LuSATT) is a non-profit organization which operates under the umbrella of the Guild of Students of the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus. The aim of the association is to unite all St. Lucians who are studying in Trinidad and Tobago, particularly at the St. Augustine Campus, in an effort to make their presence known through representation and the celebration of Saint Lucian cultural heritage on Campus throughout the academic year.
In addition, academic and emotional support is provided by members of the group especially since students are far from home.
Prospective students should make a special effort to attend as they will be informed of various ways to deal with their academic, spiritual, social, financial, security and emotional needs. Questions on various aspects of campus life, livelihood in Trinidad and Tobago and general expectations of students of The University of the West Indies, St Augustine Campus, will be entertained.
Two St Lucians will be making special presentations on that day. Dr Deidre Charles, will provide further guidance as the Director of Student Affairs at St Augustine. In addition, a past PRO of The Guild of Students of the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Mr Mervin Agiste will be available to discuss the ins and outs of university life at the St Augustine Campus.
This experience will equip prospective students with valuable information which will guide them into making sound decisions as they commence their educational journey at The University of the West Indies, St Augustine Campus.
