Following the excitement in Playoff No.1 on Saturday, the entertainment on centre court resumes this evening in the Kentucky Fried Chicken Basketball League with the second set of Premiere League semis finals slated for the Beausejour Indoor Facility.

From 7:00 p.m. last year’s finalist VBCC Warlords takes on the ever improving Micoud Hustlerz.

Meanwhile, on Saturday evening, newcomers Basketball for the Future (BFTF) faced Lions at the same venue. BFTF came out ready to win and led the game from first quarter with a 21 – 8 score. In the second quarter Lions outscored BFTF 13 – 4 and closing off at halftime with a deficit of only 4 points.

With early offense of 19 points each in the 3rd the Lions seemed to have figured out how to play against the BFTF team. In the fourth, unfortunately with some bad decisions on offense and defense Lions lost their way and BFTF with a 24 point 4th quarter, won 72 – 54 to secure the win in this best of 3 semis series.

Paul Hippolyte was awarded the KFC Player of the Game for his dominance with a “double double” of 18 points and 17 rebounds.

In Game 2 on the night, it was Premiere League action with the defending champions Courts Jets up against Soufriere Sulphur Stars. In what started off to be a more competitive game with an 18 all end in the first quarter that quickly changed in the second quarter with Courts Jets outscoring Soufriere 23 to 9.

After the halftime break Soufriere tried their best to get back their offense, but with very little defensive stops it proved not enough to defeat the champions.

Final score Courts Jets 85 – Soufriere Sulphur Stars 51.
