In 2015 Speed Printing Survivors was crowned club relay champions after a massing 1045 points.
It is this time again when the St. Lucia Athletics Association will today stage the Championship at the George Odlum Stadium in Vieux Fort from 1:00 pm.
Well over 200 athletes will represent their respective clubs as they set to do battle in friendly rivalry and for bragging rights in an attempt to dethrone the current champions.
Among track and field athletes taking part will be the likes of Desray Desir, Rochelle Etienne, Neema Leon, Kamillah Monroque, Uric Mathurin, Jean Mitchel Etienne, Tyrese Paul, Randy Serville and Vincent London just to name a few.
According to the SLAA most of these athletes will be using today’s event to fine tune thier preparation for the upcoming National Individual Track and Field Championship slated for June 25 and 26 at the same venue.
The participating athletes will compete in 20 relays with 4 relays for the 15 and Under (Age Group) category and the remaining 16 relays for the open category. The points system for each relay is as follows: 100 points 1st place, 75 points – 2nd place, 50 points -3rd place, 40 points – 4th place, 30 points -5th place, 20 point – 6th place, 10 points -7th place, 5 points – 8th place.
