PAWASOL Pour Ti Mamai is a Saint Lucian charitable organization whose primary purpose is to raise funds for children in need. The group has been in existence since September 2007 and over the last eight years has raised and disbursed over $500,000.00 to help children throughout Saint Lucia who need help in a range of areas: medical surgeries, medication for chronic ailments, special needs programmes and the provision of basic school needs for those whose families have difficulty providing all the things needed: books, uniforms, transportation costs and regular meals.
In order to raise the funds necessary the volunteer organizers of Pawasol Pour Ti Mamai have arranged quiz nights, flea markets, Oscar nights and lunch and tea functions. They have also produced and sold cookbooks, calendars and greeting cards and their next event will be a sponsored walk.
The walk is scheduled for tomorrow and will begin at 6:00 a.m. It will be a five mile walk starting and ending near The Landings.
Pawasol Pour tiMamai is encouraging as many people as possible to either participate or sponsor a walker. All the funds raised are used to help children in need.
“Requests are regularly received from school principals, medical doctors, social workers and community groups, so we need all the help we can get”, a spokesperson said.
