A JAZZ themed Art Extravaganza will be held on Thursday at Island Mix in Rodney Bay.

The event dubbed “Arts in motion” will feature live performances not only by seasoned artistes but also students from across the island. The event is a collaboration between Island Mix, Indigenous Production and JUMP (Juniors Under Mentorship Programme).

Nadia Jabour , owner of Island Mix and co-collaborator said: “ The Arts is a very significant part of our lives in the Caribbean; it allows us to think without borders.”

Artistes who have given their support in mentoring include Linda ‘Chocolate’ Berthier, Semi Werner Francis, Yannick James, Ken Hardy and Krystal Nestor.

“The mentoring programme is a way to get the youth engaged in positive activities while improving their skills and talents,” said Bernice Lewis, founder of JUMP mentorship programme. The event is free.

Highlights of the event include live painting of murals on 4×8 marine plywood, live music performances and live preparation of Lucian-style cuisine and free music tutorials.

Founder of Indigenous Productions and Musician, Chun Young Jeon, is enthusiastic about the event and explained the concept: “Its Arts in motion. We want to present the Arts in different ways, artistes, musicians, live music, classes, everything, everywhere. There is a high level of passion and excitement from my team. It’s going to be explosive, it’s going to be one of a kind.”
