ROC Scholarships Available

THE application for the 2016 “Taiwan Scholarship”, ICDF and Medical scholarship programmes starts from now and deadline being March 15, 2016. These scholarship programmes provide opportunities to young talented St. Lucians to study in Taiwan for Bachelor, Master or Ph.D degrees. Awardees list will be posted on the Embassy’s website on June 30, 2016.

A briefing on the above-mentioned scholarship programs will be held by the Embassy on mid-February, the actual venue and time will be announced later on Embassy’s website.

All application documents should be delivered to the Embassy by the deadline March 15, 2016, any delivery beyond that date, or delivery without all required documents will not be accepted, and delivered application will not be returned to applicants.

The Embassy will interview applicants. The date for the interviews is provisionally scheduled late February or early March. The actual date and venue will be announced at a later date.

As for the Medical Scholarship applicants, both written exam and interview will be held in the Embassy. The written exam covers topics on English, Chemistry and Biology, the date is tentatively scheduled on 22 April, 2016. The interview will be via skype with the professor from Taiwan and the Embassy, date is provisionally scheduled 27 to 28 April, 2016. The actual date will be announced later.

Applicants who have received any of the above mentioned scholarships before from the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan), and would like to apply for the 2016 Scholarships for higher education, should have graduated in Taiwan and returned to Saint Lucia prior to July 31, 2015. They should also attach a copy of the stamped page of the arrival record from their passport or other related proof while presenting their application data.

The applicants should be nationals of Saint Lucia, and should not have had any previous record of denial, withdraw or refusal of the grant of any scholarship from the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan).

Please read carefully the “Guidelines for the MOFA Taiwan Scholarship Programme”, fill out “APPLICATION FORM FOR THE MOFA TAIWAN SCHOLARSHIP” and deliver it with a copy of highest education certificate and transcript authenticated by the Ministry of Education, Human Resource Development and Labour or relevant authorities, two reference letters, and a Police Clearance Letter to the Embassy.

Fill out application form, and follow the required procedure. Applicants need to complete the university application procedure first.

For Saint Lucia Government Officials who are interested in the scholarship programmes, the approval documents from the Training Division of the Ministry of the Public Service, Sustainable Development, Energy, Science and Technology will be needed for the application.
