THE Iyanola Council for the Advancement of Rastafari Incorporated (ICAR Inc.) will be holding its first Biannual General Meeting (BGM) tomorrow at the Dennery Multi-purpose Centre.
The meeting will start at 1:00 p.m. following registration and subscription payment.
All ICAR Inc. members, including new registrants, are requested to make a special effort to attend this meeting as the main highlight will be the election of a new executive to serve for the period 2016 to 2018.
The main theme for the BGM is “Reconciliation, Rastafari coming together, for United We Stand” and the chant is “Rastafari Rise and Shine”.
Outgoing chairman, Henry “Jah D” Pierre, will address the gathering and present ICAR’s main achievements for the period 2014 to 2016, including the work of the Cannabis and Reparation Committees, and the ICAR Inc. draft Five Year Strategic Action Plan (2015 – 2019).
The auditor’s report will also be presented to give members an update on the financial standing of the organization.
ICAR Inc. calls on all its members to pay their dues and participate in this very important meeting.
There is great anticipation that at the end of the Biannual General Meeting, a committed group of persons will be elected to run the business of the Rastafari Community.
