The 8 year old Gaillard told THE VOICE after her victory: “I am happy and excited I won. I did a lot of training, but at the same time it was fun. The route was challenging, but it did not stop me from getting the job done for my house. Come January 2016 I will be representing Egan’s in the school sports meet right here”.
She went on to say that her favourite athlete is Usain Bolt because “he wins a lot of races, travels a lot and makes a lot of money”.
Physical Education Teacher Solange Petit was pleased with the outcome of the event and congratulated the top winners and all the students from the other houses who participated.
Petit said: “The Ave Maria Infant and Primary Schools will stage their annual fun sports and track and field championship on January 26 at the Mindoo Phillip Park as Pierre, Phillips and Riviere Houses will be looking to dethrone this year’s champions, Egan House”.
