As the final convention of the United Workers Party approaches this Sunday, two disgruntled hopefuls have seen it fit to take to the airwaves on a continuous basis to ventilate their personal aspirations instead of addressing their concerns democratically.
For over 50 years political parties in St. Lucia have adopted a recognised and democratic approach, but unfortunately, as the system unfolds unfavourably to those individuals who feel it is their God-given right to occupy certain positions, they turn to the media as a last resort.
Allen Chastanet needs to stand firm in support of democracy and take the party and the nation to its rightful position. St. Lucia is heading down a perilous road and must be diverted at all cost. We simply have to revisit the chaos in American politics today based on square pegs in round holes in Washington which has caused outsiders to emerge as front runners.
The disgruntled members of the UWP need to eliminate their personal preferences and rally towards a democratic process which dictates the only reliable course of action at this stage of world politics.
