THE Vide Boutielle Cultural Club be the venue for the Cue Sports St. Lucia Inc and sponsors Bryden and Partners’ stage the Mackeson Pool Final on Saturday.
Contesting the finals are the two top teams from Group A – defending champions Ultimate players of Barre Denis and Charlie’s Bar of Vieux Fort, while Group B will see Mon Repos All Stars and Sharp Shooters of Castries play each other.
Last Friday in matches played at The Temple at Plateau. Rainbow Lazers and Cue Ball Warriors forfeited their match ups. In Match No. 2 Group B Team Goddard 0, Sharp Shooters 4
A total of twelve teams took part in this year’s tournament. Speaking to The VOICE, Ed Mathurin, Brand Manager for Mackeson said: “It is the second year for the Mackeson Summer Pool Classic. Last year was great, we received a lot of exposure for the brand and also for the sport. This year is exceptional; we have more teams, more venues and a lot of excitement at every game”.
He continued, “One of reasons we will continue to sponsor the event is there is a decline when it comes to bars sports the likes of pools, darts and dominoes. Those sports are in decline, you hardly hear anything about darts in St. Lucia. We do not want the pool game to die out. With Mackeson being an alcoholic beverage the best place or venue to stage an event like this is at a Bar”,
