EARLY Childhood Learning Centres around Saint Lucia will in the coming days benefit once again from high quality learning material compliments the Cocoland Cares Programme.
Cocoland Cares is a gift to Saint Lucia by Mr. Gary “Butch” Hendrickson owner of Coconut Bay Beach Resort and Spa which is geared towards the holistic learning development of the nation’s children.
This year the learning packages have been enriched with learning aides designed to strengthen mathematics skills.
The third season of Cocoland Cares programme will get off the ground with a Media Launch and Presentation Ceremony scheduled for Monday, at the Little Stars Early Childhood Development Centre in La Clery, Castries. The ceremony will feature remarks by Coconut Bay’s General Manager as well as representatives of the Ministry of Education Early Childhood Services Unit and the Administrator of the host school speaking on behalf of all Administrators.
“Coconut Bay Chairman and owner Gary Butch Hendrickson conceived this programme to provide Pre Schools with more tools to strengthen the foundation of the critical skills Saint Lucia’s children will need for both their future and the future of the nation,” says Hotel Manager Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa Karl-Oskar Hallberg. “We are pleased to be able to sustain this programme as an annual commitment to benefit an estimated 137 Early Childhood Learning Centres island-wide”.
In continuation of their tradition of giving back to local communities, Coconut Bay’s management and staff are once again volunteering their time to implement the programme, from assembling the Cocoland Cares Packages and loading trucks to hand-delivering them to the Pre Schools.
