CELESTIAL Self Development Centre has signed an agreement with Education for Advancement which has operated in the Caribbean region from 2007 to promote and facilitate the registration of students in online Certificates, Diploma, Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees as well as over 50 professional certificates in a wide range of careers.
These programmes are being offered by the University of Derby in the UK and the Ashworth College in the USA, both of which are fully accredited and well recognised institutions, locally, regionally and internationally.
Last Saturday Celestial Self Development Centre held an outreach programme in the Blue Coral Mall to reach out to Saint Lucians wishing to pursue undergraduate certificates, diplomas and Degrees as well as graduate certificates and Master’s Degrees. The response was tremendous with the company obtaining indication of interest from Saint Lucians in a wide range of areas including Business Management, Computer and IT, Education , Health Care, Engineering, Hospitality and Law.
Said Managing Director of Celestial Self Development Centre Theckla Deterville: “There is a substantial need for affordable, flexible degree completion programmes in Saint Lucia. This is an important initiative if Saint Lucians are to acquire the necessary qualifications to compete in the local and international market. The OECS Economic Union and the impending CARICOM Single Market and Economy are realities that we must respond to as Saint Lucians and this initiative is Celestial’s contribution to this response.
The University of Derby and Ashworth College Online Degrees programmes are intended to provide a convenient way for Saint Lucians to fulfil their requirements for formal certification.All the programmes are affordable as participants are able to obtain their Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees for as little as US$10,000. The programmes are also designed so that candidates can easily balance family, work and education in their own convenient schedule.
The programmes of Ashworth College are designed for students who have completed an Associate Degree with Sir Arthur Lewis Community College or any of the regional state colleges in the Caribbean to earn eligible transfer credits. Celestial Self Development Centre mentors will help students complete the programme by providing assistance with course selections, registration, academic progress, tech support and other concerns. The company will continue its outreach initiatives in the rest of the island in the coming weeks as it strives to provide Saint Lucians with local access to global education opportunities, thereby facilitating the personal advancement and growth of the nation’s greatest resource, its people.
In addition to the road show Celestial has also been making presentations to the staff of companies and membership organisations in Saint Lucia.
