AS part of its on-going drive to develop the youth of the Gros Islet community Digicel partnered with Grow Well Inc. in hosting its thirteenth annual Primary Schools Quiz Competition last Friday, at the Players Pavilion of the Beausejour Cricket Grounds.

The competition was held amongst the six Primary Schools in the wider Gros Islet area with 72 students participating. In the end the first place went to Bonne Terre Preparatory –a first time winner in this 13-year competition; second place to Grande Riviere Combine, and third place to Montessori Centre.

The competition was timely as part of Grow Wellā€™s twentieth anniversary of youth development programmes in the community of Gros Islet which is faced with many challenges including disadvantaged youth and youth at risk. Over the past years Grow Well, a non-profit organization has continued to support, nurture and encourage vulnerable youth through several initiatives such as After School Programmes, Remedial Reading Programmes, Arts and Craft classes all aimed at developing and inspiring youth.
