THE Folk Research Centre in association with its many sponsors including the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports is inviting cricket fans to be part of tomorrow’s exciting finals of the 2014 Woulelaba Cricket Tournament from 10:00 a.m.
The final will be played between Belfond and Barre Du Chaussee.
According to AshleneSt.Martin, the final was shifted from the Soufriere Mini Stadium to the Monchy Playing Field due to a soggy outfield, but on the scheduled date it had to be postponed due to heavy rain at Monchy. This time around weather permitting it will be held at the Dennery Playing Field.
The National Woulelaba Cricket Tournament is organized annually by the Folk Research Centre as a major activity for Creole Heritage Month. It was established in 2005. Its main objectives are to increase national awareness and appreciation for this exciting indigenous sports tradition, and to rejuvenate interest at the community level.
