BOSL Slog Fest Final Tomorrow At Soufriere

SOUFRIERE Mini Stadium will be the venue for the Bank of St. Lucia T20 Slog Fest Final tomorrow. The west coast venue beat off challenges from the Mindoo Phillip Park and Dennery Cricket Grounds to host the grand final.

The final which is expected to bowl off from 5:30 p.m. will feature Central Castries and Soufriere. Central Castries will be looking to do the double following their capture of the Mindoo Philip two-day title this past weekend over Mon Repos, while Soufriere will be trying to capture their maiden BOSL T20 title.

Preceding the final, fans will be treated to a veterans T20 exhibition game between a Soufriere District Representative X1 and a SLNCA Representative X1 at 2:30 p.m. This year’s champions will walk away with $4000.00 while the 2nd place team will pocket $2000.00

Meanwhile, The St.Lucia National Cricket Association has secured the services of former West Indies wicket keeper and Chairman of Selectors, Michael Findlay to conduct two half day clinics for wicket keepers here as part of the local association’s continuing development programme.

Findlay will also be the Guest Speaker at the association’s awards ceremony tonight from 7:00 p.m. at the Bay Gardens Hotel. The former West Indies keeper will speak on the theme Rekindling the Interest.”

The former West Indies wicket keeper made his debut against England at Lords in 1968 and played 10 Tests for the West Indies. He scored 212 runs at an average of 16.30,with a highest score of 44 not out. He held 19 catches and made twostumpings.
