SALCC – Champions of Inter-Secondary Schools Volleyball Contest

SIR Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC) emerged victorious in the male and female categories of the Ministry of Sports’ Secondary Schools Under 19 Volleyball Tournament Championships played last week.

In the Girls category, SALCC defeated St. Joseph’s Convent (SJC), while in the Boys category, SALCC defeated St. Mary’s College (SMC).

Consequently, SALCC were awarded the Female and Male Champions trophy along with gold medals.

Boys final action

Despite losing the finals, SMC and SJC were awarded the Premiere League trophy for playing undefeated in the preliminary round of the championship.

In the Girls category, Castries Comprehensive Secondary School (CCSS) secured the third place, whereas in the Boys category, Soufriere Comprehensive won the third place.

Meanwhile, there were impressive results from the semifinals played last week.

In the Girls Division category, SJC defeated CCSS in a straight set of 25-12, 25-13, while SALCC beat Soufriere Comprehensive Secondary School (SCSS) with a score of 25-13, 25-14 to advance to the finals.

In the Boys Division, SMC won a thrilling match against CCSS, with set scores of 26-24, 25-17, while SALCC defeated SCSS with a straight-set victory of 25-16, 25-21.
