POLICE are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 21-year-old David Egarnes, a resident of New Extension, Micoud.
Officers from the Micoud Police Station received a report about a stabbing at the Micoud Playing Field about 10:00 p.m. last Monday.
Egarnes was conveyed to the St. Jude Hospital via ambulance and succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.
A post mortem examination was conducted on Tuesday by Dr. Heather Emmanuel, which revealed that Egarnes died as a result of hemoperitoneum resulting from injuries to the liver and abdominal aorta secondary to stab wound to the abdomen.
One individual is currently in police custody in relation to this incident and investigations into this matter are continuing.
This was the thirty-third homicide for the year.
