Sagicor Workers Benefit from Unionization

.

Management of Sagicor Life (Eastern Caribbean) Inc. and the National Workers Union (NWU) have established new industrial relations provisions for employees, driven by the advocacy of Customer Service Representatives within the firm.

Beginning January 1, 2026, workers will receive an eight percent (8%) compounded wage increase over three years, structured as 2% in the first year, followed by 3% in the second and third years.

These new arrangements will provide a framework for enhanced fringe benefits, improved working conditions, and protections aligned with updated provisions in the Labour Act.

Representatives from NWU, management, and employees will soon convene to discuss the specifics of the agreement. Following this consultation, arrangements will be made to have the first industrial agreement signed in the presence of the Labour Commissioner at the Department of Labour, officially solidifying the relationship between the parties.
