Machel Montano, the ultimate maestro of performance and entertainment, will headline the Colour Me Red – “CMR – the ENCORE” edition, a grand event by the dynamic Red Unlimited carnival band.
The exciting celebration is set to take place tonight (Friday) at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground (DSCG).
Billed as the Caribbean’s greatest Soca artiste, Machel will share the stage with Skinny Fabulous from St. Vincent & the Grenadines, along with a stellar lineup of Saint Lucia’s top Soca stars; which includes Groovy Soca Monarch Keisha Kay, Power Soca Monarch Ezra Machinery , Shemmy J , Sedale and Dennery segment artists like Black boy, Mighty, and rising star Andrew (the ‘Biscuit Man’).
On Thursday, the evening before the big show, Machel and Skinny Fabulous engaged with media personnel at the Windjammer Hotel. Their discussion centered around unity and strength within the region’s music industry, the importance of mentorship and training for aspiring artists, and the goal of elevating the Caribbean’s artistic standards to a global level.
Both performers highlighted what makes Colour Me Red a defining aspect of Lucian Carnival. They reflected on the event’s evolution over the past two decades, the power of a full Saint Lucian lineup, and the global rise of the Dennery Segment with its unmistakable sound.
