Young Saint Lucians Honoured for Making a Difference Beyond the Classroom

Seven secondary school students across Saint Lucia are being recognized not only for their academic achievement but also for exemplary leadership, service, resilience and personal growth.

These students have been recognized for their outstanding contributions to their schools and communities during their school tenure through the CIBC Caribbean’s Culture of Care Student Recognition Programme, an initiative which partners with seven secondary schools across Saint Lucia to spotlight students whose achievements extend beyond academics.

Each honouree was selected by their school based on their demonstration of leadership, community involvement, character and resilience.

The 2026 Culture of Care award recipients are Kami Analise St. Rose of St. Joseph’s Convent Secondary School; Shyann Mayers of Ciceron Secondary School; Sanjani Cetoline of Corinth Secondary School; Saachi Wadhwani of Leon Hess Comprehensive Secondary School; Darnel Isidore of Castries Comprehensive Secondary School; Jervonté Desir of Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary School; and Colleen Busette of Sir Ira Simmons Secondary School.

The group represents a diverse range of young talent, including student council leaders, prefects, athletes, environmental advocates and aspiring professionals. Their accomplishments highlight the many ways students are contributing to school life and serving as examples to their peers.

Commenting on the initiative, Country Manager Nigel Ollivierre expressed that “at CIBC Caribbean, we believe that the future of our communities depends not only on academic excellence, but on the values young people choose to live by. Through the Culture of Care Student Recognition Programme, we are proud to celebrate students who lead with integrity, serve others with compassion and demonstrate the resilience and character that inspire those around them.”

In addition to students’ receiving, amongst other tokens, trophies and CIBC Caribbean Student Accounts with cash-value deposits, the students’ schools also received EC$1,000 contributions towards their graduation ceremonies.

The programme forms part of CIBC Caribbean’s ongoing commitment to education and youth development.
