Blackheart Boys U-20 Championships Progress to Quarter-Finals

This season’s SLFA Inc./Blackheart Boys Under 20 District League is set for an action-packed quarter-final stage following an exciting round of 16, last weekend.

On Friday, May 29, at the Phillip Marcellin Ground in Vieux Fort, La Clery and Mabouya Valley secured their spots in the quarter-finals.

In the first match, La Clery showcased their dominance with a decisive 5-0 victory over Micoud. Within the game’s opening ten minutes, La Clery surged ahead, netting three goals by halftime.

Keenan Joseph was the standout performer, scoring a hat trick in the 4th, 7th, and 46th minutes, while Jadin Rohan Valcin added another in the 9th minute and Justice Germaine completed the scoring in the 59th minute.

In the second match, Mabouya Valley fought hard to claim a narrow 1-0 win against Choiseul, with Kershan Cody Alexander scoring the decisive goal in the 71st minute.

At the Soufriere Mini Stadium, Canaries edged out Roseau with an own goal from Nahum Octave in the 57th minute, securing a 1-0 victory.

The evening concluded with Soufriere defeating Anse La Raye 4-0, highlighted by a brace from Cassian Joseph (37th and 63rd minutes) and goals from Ranel Jn. Baptiste and Eymani Butcher.

All four winners have now advanced to the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, May 30, Mabouya Valley and Dennery continued their success in the SLFA Inc. Primary Schools Boys Under 12 District League at the Technical Centre in Grande Riviere, Dennery.

In the opening match, Mabouya Valley earned a comfortable 2-0 victory over Roseau Valley, with Nickeige Fenelon scoring in the 10th minute and Ronaldo Fevriere adding a second goal in the 43rd minute.

Dennery also made headlines by handing Marchand their first defeat of the competition, securing a 1-0 win thanks to an open goal by goalkeeper Serneil John in the 46th minute, whose outstanding performance was pivotal in maintaining the team’s lead.
