EASTER: THE MORNING THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING

By Thomas Roserie

There are moments in history that do not simply pass—they echo.

Easter is one of them.

It is not just a date on the calendar.
It is not just a religious tradition we observe once a year.

Easter is a question… and a declaration.

It asks every one of us, quietly but powerfully:
What do you do after the darkest night?

Because before the celebration, there was silence.
Before the joy, there was suffering.
Before the resurrection, there was a cross.

And that is why Easter matters.

It reminds us that even when all seems lost—
when hope appears buried,
when dreams seem shattered,
when the weight of life presses heavily upon a nation and its people—

God is still working.

Saint Lucia, this message is for us.

In a time when many are concerned about the future…
when families are feeling pressure…
when businesses are struggling…
when young people are searching for direction…

Easter stands as a reminder that:

👉 The story is not over.
👉 The stone can still be rolled away.
👉 New life can still rise from difficult places.

The resurrection was not just about one man rising.
It was about proving that light cannot be buried forever.

And that truth speaks directly to our nation today.

It tells us:

  • That no setback is final
  • That no struggle is wasted
  • That no person is beyond renewal

But Easter is not only about what God has done.

It is also about what we must become.

A people who:

  • Choose hope over despair
  • Choose unity over division
  • Choose faith over fear

Because a nation, like a person, must rise.

This Easter, let us not only celebrate the resurrection—
Let us live it.

Let it be seen in how we treat one another.
Let it be felt in how we rebuild, how we forgive, how we move forward.

And let us remember this above all:

The same power that rolled away the stone
is still at work today—
in our lives, in our homes, and in our beloved Saint Lucia.

May this Easter bring renewed strength, deeper faith, and a fresh vision for the future we are called to build together.

Happy Easter, Saint Lucia.
