There was a time, especially when young, you could dictate what the body does. But, as we age, we lose the control or means to dictate how your life should be. Your command, your authority, your dictates of self all seem to be controlled by a greater force.
You cannot will the body to jump, sleep or dance and function as you please like when you were younger. Eating depends on circumstances. Social behaviour depends on capability and pain of all types visit you, without control.
If you have a car, or any other personal gadget, you can drive it or put it on at will and decide it’s going on or off, but that command switch does not always function at your request with advanced age, or when time has taken its toll.
You reflect on the past, you remember all that has unfolded throughout the passage of time, but despite the memories or reflections, you continue to realize you are no longer in command. And if you let go, or go with the flow, is slowly becoming less than a personal decision. But such decisions do not come easy, as the external and the internal clashes and your grip is loosened, depending on what point you are at in that moment.
So, it is good to be in command at certain periods in life, and make good use of it, but remember that period or these days are numbered.
Health is a funny thing, and it seems to have its own agenda. Regardless of your thoughts or wishes, you are forced to relinquish your hold on what you once held with a firm grip, or so it seems.
So, cherish the good times, the youthful years the glorious moments, because at some stage we just have to let go. The world around you will continue, your time and input is measured by what you put in, and the continuous changes are just part of a period in time.
Now, even governments and countries can’t switch their lights on or off at random and it’s God that will spare or determine your continuity, or if the dictates of mankind determine that final hour.
