
Saint Lucian designer Petra Kai Baptiste will certainly be carrying the St. Lucian flag this weekend when she showcases her talent at the World Fashion Expo as part of Paris Fashion Week.
The Voice Publishing Company Limited is in attendance to document the occasion, providing a firsthand account of the 2006 Paris affair.
This internationally celebrated event brings together leading designers, models, media professionals, and fashion enthusiasts from across the globe. Each year, it serves as a powerful platform for creativity, innovation, and cultural expression within the global fashion industry.
Paris marks the final stop of fashion month, following other major events on the world fashion calendar including the major stops like New York, London and Milan. Paris Fashion Week has a crammed nine-day-long schedule, nearly double the length of its counterparts.
Dior began proceedings on Tuesday afternoon (3 March 2026) with Jonathan Anderson’s sophomore womenswear show for the house, and Chanel, where Matthieu Blazy presented his own second act (both showed acclaimed collections during haute couture week in January.
Others who are relatively new in their tenures include Michael Rider at Celine (the American designer is showing today), Duran Lantink at Jean Paul Gaultier (March 8), and Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez at Loewe (March 6).
Baptiste is expected to shine at the event which will provide yet another proud moment for the island and its growing influence on the global fashion catwalk.
The March 2nd to 10th event has traditionally brought together the big names in the fashion industry including the like of Givenchy, Balenciaga, Lacoste, Jean Paul Gaultier, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Pierre Cardin.
