On January 19, at approximately 12:45 p.m., officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) responded to reports of a shooting in La Clery, Castries.
Initial findings revealed that one male victim had been shot and was attended to by personnel from the St. Lucia Fire Service. He was subsequently transported to the Owen King European Hospital (OKEU) via ambulance.
Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced dead by a medical practitioner and has been identified as twenty-seven-year-old Cresean Biscombe of La Clery, Castries.
Update:
The Major Crimes Unit has since taken over the investigation into the homicide of Cresean Biscombe.
On January 24, officers arrested Cleveland Javier Bailey, a Jamaican National. He was charged with murder on January 27 and was escorted to the First District Court on January 28, where he was remanded to the Bordelais Correctional Facility.
On February 15, the Major Crimes Unit arrested Tafari Calderon, alias “Agar,” of Wiltons Yard, Castries. He was charged with murder on February 17 and was also remanded to the Bordelais Correctional Facility following his court appearance.
