Saint Lucia Labour Party candidate for Babonneau John Paul Estephane made his official debut on Sunday, addressing a massive gathering of over 10,000 supporters in Choc. Estephane outlined several initiatives aimed at uplifting the community, including the establishment of a vendor’s market, an Early Childhood Education Center, and improved sporting facilities.

“Those of you who know me know that I am not new to struggle,” Estephane said, noting that his leadership style will be characterized by continuous engagement. “Most importantly, it will be about empowering you, the people of Babonneau: our farmers, churches, sports groups, youth, professionals, and vendors; every family will be impacted,” he added.

Estephane pledged to build on the initiatives of incumbent MP Dr. Virginia Albert-Poyotte, particularly in housing. “I am aware that Dr. Poyotte had started engaging constituents on the issue of housing and occupation of Crownlands. I intend to build on this initiative in line with the Prime Minister’s policy,” he said.

The large turnout underscored the enthusiasm and support for his vision. According to him, “Seeing the sea of red, the energy, the unity, and the love from Babonneau and beyond reminded me why I chose to serve.”
