Today (Saturday), Mabouya Valley is set to confront Vieux Fort South in the finals of the SLFA Inc. Boys Under 12 competition, taking place at the Technical Centre in Grande Riviere, Dennery.
This prestigious event is proudly backed by the Ministry of Youth Development & Sports, the National Lotteries Authority, and ACADO.
The day’s proceedings will kick off with the Third Place Play Off at 10:00 a.m., where Central Castries will battle against Gros Islet, paving the way for the grand finals.
Last week’s event was postponed due to the SLFA’s commitment to hosting a critical coaching license workshop.
In the semi-finals at the Technical Centre, Vieux Fort South emerged victorious over a determined Gros Islet, clinching a 1-0 win thanks to the decisive goal from Benahim Poyotte in the 38th minute, demonstrating their unwavering determination and skill.
The semi-final clash also highlighted outstanding goalkeeping performances, particularly from Vieux Fort South’s Keegan Henry and Central Castries’ Quzard Eugene.
In the second semi-final, Mabouya Valley showcased their exceptional strength and tenacity, decisively defeating Central Castries with a confident 2-0 scoreline.
Despite facing formidable challenges from Quzard Eugene’s impressive saves, Mabouya Valley’s standout goal-scorer Keevan Louisy broke through, netting his first goal in the 39th minute and sealing the victory with a stunning second goal in the 58th minute.
Fans can look forward to an exhilarating grand finale on Saturday at the Technical Centre in Grande Riviere after an action-packed double-header.
The Awards Ceremony will follow the finals, celebrating the achievements of all teams involved.
