In a remarkable display of skill, Canaries overwhelmed Choiseul with a staggering 13-1 victory during the SLFA Inc. Senior Women competition at the Desruisseaux Playing Field on Monday.
The defending champions Canaries made their intent clear from the outset, racing to a commanding 5-0 lead by half-time. Amayah Emmanuel was the standout player of the match, scoring five goals in the 4th, 10th, 21st, 52nd, and 55th minutes.
Casandra Shepherd also shone brightly, contributing four goals in the 28th, 31st, 47th, and 48th minutes. Steffany Allain completed the scoring for the Canaries with a hat trick, netting goals in the 43rd, 61st, and 67th minutes, while goalkeeper Renala Francis scored in the 70th minute.
Choiseul managed to find the back of the net with a consolation goal from Nyeesha Antoine in the 65th minute.
Canaries’ impressive performance solidifies their status as a formidable force in the competition.
Update: SLFA Under-14 Boys League
On Sunday, September 20, the second stage of the SLFA Inc. Boys Under-14 District League competition kicked off at the Technical Centre in Grande Riviere, Dennery.
In an impressive display, Mabouya Valley triumphed over Roseau Valley with a score of 4–1, having taken a 1–0 lead by halftime. The standout performers for Mabouya Valley included Zackim Francois, who netted two goals in the 38th and 68th minutes, along with Dayshaun Giddings in the 35th minute and Tristan Moise in the 63rd minute.
Jeaneri Joseph found the net for Roseau Valley in the 42nd minute.
In another match, Gros Islet secured a 4–1 victory against Micoud, leading 3–0 at the break. Ajani Polius starred for Gros Islet, scoring a hat-trick with goals in the 5th, 18th, and 29th minutes, and Isaije Auberto added another in the 56th minute.
Randall Charlery scored a consolation penalty for Micoud in the 34th minute.
