Saint Lucia’s men’s senior football team will open its 2026–2027 CONCACAF Nations League Championship campaign this Friday evening on home soil against Barbados. Head Coach Rajesh Latchoo has expressed supreme confidence that the squad will perform exceptionally well in the tournament.
Speaking at a press conference yesterday to introduce the team, Latchoo emphasized the players’ confidence, unity, and strength. “Each of them is an expert in his own right,” he said, noting the squad’s depth and attacking presence. He made clear his ambition: to see Saint Lucia one day qualify for the FIFA World Cup, with winning the Nations League Championship as a crucial step toward that goal.
Technical Director Milan Louis echoed this optimism, predicting major progress for Saint Lucian football over the next five years. He highlighted the pathway from grassroots programmes to the national team, stressing that while challenges remain, the structure of football in Saint Lucia is evolving positively.
