Team Saint Lucia experienced a mix of success and disappointment as the 2026 Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Senior Championships kicked off on Wednesday, August 12, in Tortola, showcasing thrilling matches from the very first serve.

In the women’s competition, the defending champions faced a tough challenge against Bermuda, ultimately losing in a nail-biting match that ended 3–2 (25–18, 14–25, 21–25, 25–13, 10–15).

Although Saint Lucia recovered from an early setback and appeared poised to defend their title, Bermuda demonstrated incredible tenacity, clinching the win in the final set.

On a brighter note, the men’s team delivered an impressive performance, upset the defending champions Antigua and Barbuda in another electrifying match, finishing 3–2 (21–25, 25–23, 25–21, 18–25, 10–15).
