Windward Island Gases Limited has reached an agreement with the National Workers Union (NWU) following recent industrial relations negotiations.
As a result, technical and clerical employees will now receive a general wage increase. The agreement includes a wage increase of nine percent (9%) to be distributed evenly over three years.
Additionally, the new industrial package introduces enhanced fringe benefits, such as an improved compensation framework for Acting Allowances, along with increases in Breakfast and On-Call Allowances.
Effective from 1st July 2025, the collective agreement will also provide employees with back pay for approximately twelve (12) months.
Management has assured the union of improvements in operational processes, which are expected to lead to higher productivity and increased satisfaction for workers, the company, and its clientele. The Department of Labour has been notified and will facilitate the signing of the industrial agreement soon.
