SLFA Boys Under-14 Update

On Sunday, July 19, the SLFA Inc. Boys Under-14 District League continued at the Technical Centre in Grande Riviere, Dennery.

In the opening match, Micoud secured a 3-0 victory over Desruisseaux, leading 1-0 at halftime. The goals for Micoud came from Keylan Joseph in the 5th minute of added time, Lervin Joseph in the 16th minute, and Chavez Lawrence in the 59th minute.

In another match, Soufriere was awarded a win by default over Laborie.

In other junior football league action , excitement and suspense filled the air during the SLFA Inc. Primary Schools Boys Under 12 District League matches, held on Saturday, July 18, at the Technical Centre in Grande Riviere Dennery.

In the opening match, Micoud played their final game of the second stage, earning a hard-fought point in a goalless draw against Central Castries, who missed several scoring chances.

Desruisseaux fought their way back into playoff contention with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Roseau Valley, after a balanced first half ended at 1-1.

Cjay Flavius opened the scoring for Desruisseaux in the 18th minute, followed by Adrian Charlery in the 34th. Melvinus Alexander sealed the victory with a penalty in the 56th minute. For Roseau Valley, Yanell Estaphane showcased his talent with two goals in the 27th and 40th minutes.

In the highlight match of the day, defending champions Mabouya Valley triumphed over Gros Islet in a nail-biting 3-2 clash, with the halftime score tied at 1-1. Zachim Francois led the way for Mabouya Valley with a brace in the 4th and 41st minutes, while Ronaldo Fevriere added another in the 62nd minute.

Gros Islet’s Jason Williams matched the intensity with two goals of his own, scoring in the 12th and 40th minutes.

The matches delivered plenty of action and set the stage for an exciting finish to the competition.
