Over five days filled with excitement, participants engaged in a comprehensive learning experience focused on cricket. The camp welcomed 65 enthusiastic boys and girls aged between 7 and 16, who actively took part in daily sessions running from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Under the expertise of six skilled coaches, the young cricketers received practical instruction covering essentials such as batting, bowling, fielding, the basic rules of cricket, and introductory umpiring. This foundation aims to foster their continued growth in the sport.
The SCCA expressed great satisfaction with the campers’ participation, enthusiasm, and discipline throughout the week, emphasizing its commitment to grassroots cricket development in the South Castries district.

To ensure a well-rounded experience, the SCCA provided daily transportation and light snacks for all campers. The Association offers heartfelt thanks to the coaches, volunteers, parents, and guardians whose support was vital to the camp’s success.
Special recognition is also given to the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports, the Saint Lucia National Cricket Association, and all partners who helped make this initiative a reality.
Looking ahead, the South Castries Cricket Association is excited to welcome these young athletes back for its ongoing Grassroots Cricket Development Programme after the summer break, as it continues to nurture the next generation of cricketers in Saint Lucia.
