Batting Consultant Enhances Local Players’ Abilities

Saint Lucia’s cricket players have recently participated in a comprehensive training program aimed at refining their batting techniques to align with modern trends in the sport.

Bob Carter, a world-renowned batting consultant, led an intensive batting camp in Saint Lucia, working closely with local cricketers and coaches at Mindoo Phillip Park and Daren Sammy Cricket Ground. The program focused on technique, mental approach, and tactical development, all under the guidance of British high-performance coaching.

Positive results have already been reported by the St. Lucia Cricket High Performance Centre (SLCHPC), indicating a significant impact on player performance.

This camp represents a crucial step in elevating the standards of local cricket through expert-led training. Carter, who has over 20 years of experience with New Zealand Cricket, collaborated with players such as Theo Edward, Ackeem Auguste, Noelle Leo, Kimani Melius, and Shadrack Descarte, among others.

The St Lucia National Cricket Association (SLNCA) expressed optimism, stating, “We look forward to seeing the fruits of this initiative.”

SLCHPC chairman Craig Emmanuel, a former First Class player, mentioned that many players who trained with Coach Carter have adopted new approaches to their batting following the week-long camp.
