Law enforcement officers are actively investigating the shooting death of a young male that occurred over the weekend in the southern district.
The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Mershan Suma.
Reports indicate that on April 24, at approximately 5:15 a.m., officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) in Vieux Fort responded to a shooting incident at Westhall Group.
Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim with apparent gunshot wounds. He was transported to St. Jude’s Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead by a medical professional.
Investigations into this incident are ongoing, and a post-mortem examination is scheduled for a later date.
