
Authorities have charged two individuals from the northern community with possession of a substantial amount of cannabis following a decisive operation conducted by the Royal St Lucia Police Force (RSLPF), led by the Gangs, Narcotics and Firearms Unit (GNFU).
During this targeted raid in the community of Garrand, Babonneau, officers executed a house search and eradication operation focused on dismantling the illegal cultivation, possession, and distribution of controlled drugs.
Kenny Akim Eleodore, a resident of Garrand, was discovered to have 4,451 cannabis plants on his plantation, valued at an estimated EC $445,100.
A follow-up search of his residence uncovered forty-five (45) pounds of dry green plant material, believed to be cannabis, with an estimated street value of EC $45,000.
Eleodore faces serious charges including:
– Possession of Controlled Drugs
– Possession of Controlled Drugs with Intent to Supply
– Cultivation of Controlled Drugs
The operation also extended to Glen Elijah Marius’s residence in Garrand, where officers recovered twenty-three (23) pounds of green plant material, believed to be cannabis, with an estimated street value of EC $23,000.
Marius has been charged with:
– Possession of Controlled Drugs
– Possession of Controlled Drugs with Intent to Supply
Additionally, officers discovered and eradicated another cannabis plantation consisting of a total of 4,905 plants.
All cannabis plants and materials have been meticulously photographed, packaged, and sealed in line with evidential procedures.
Both men were presented before the First District Court in September. Kenny Akim Eleodore was remanded into custody, while Glen Elijah Marius was granted bail set at EC $35,000.
According to police sources, the early morning operation at 5:00 a.m. resulted in significant seizures and the dismantling of drug operations within the Garrand community.
