In the Men’s Singles, the ever-dominant Marcus Toussaint reasserted his position at the top, winning the title with conviction.
Organized by the Saint Lucia Darts Association (SLDA), the event showcased intense matches and unforgettable moments.
Bernard St. Croix, SLDA Public Relations Officer, praised the high level of competition. “The finals were exceptional, with every darter showcasing their best skills. But the night unequivocally belonged to Marcia Norvill,” he declared.
St. Croix further emphasized, “Marcia has proven herself, consistently finishing second in previous tournaments. This time, she seized her opportunity and emerged victorious.”
Norvill triumphed over her longtime rival, Leona Augustine, with an impressive 3–1 victory, earning her spot as the No. 1-ranked ladies’ dart player in the country. She didn’t stop there; she also dominated the Mixed Triple and Team events, achieving victory in both.
The intensity of the Men’s Singles was equally remarkable. In a thrilling showdown, Linus Theophilus faced Marcus Toussaint, who, after a brief dip in form, reclaimed his rhythm and secured a 3–2 win, confirming his status as the No. 1 male player.
On the final night of competition, Dawn Avril claimed third place in the Ladies’ Singles, decisively defeating Catherine Clermont 3–0.
In the Men’s Singles third-place match, Barry Mathurin showcased his skills by sweeping Lambert Charles 3–0. The Open Doubles Championship thrilled the crowd, with Jonathan Emmanuel and Cuthbert Tony narrowly defeating Marcus Toussaint and Haig Louis in a gripping 3–2 finish.
Taking third place, Nerville Labadie and Jonathan Boodho overcame Athanasius St. Rose and Leona Augustine 3–1.
The Mixed Triple Championship delivered a dramatic showdown, where Haig Louis, Marcus Toussaint, and Marcia Norvill teamed up to defeat Jonathan Emmanuel, Cuthbert Tony, and Jada Emmanuel in a thrilling 3–2 match.
With five successful tournaments already hosted, the Saint Lucia Darts Association shows no signs of slowing down. The next event on the calendar is the inaugural Edura Mart Open Doubles 501 Classic, set to launch on September 26, followed by the prestigious National Day Tournament in December.
As the 2025 Alternative Sports Season gears up for its official launch on November 1, the SLDA remains steadfast in its commitment to creating more opportunities for its members to compete, grow, and showcase their talent on a national stage.
