The local media and St. Lucia will get a better understanding of the establishment of the Halls of Justice in the City’s center.
The local media has been invited to attend a special media briefing Thursday at the NH International Project Site office in Central Castries to discuss the construction project.
Representatives of NH International (Caribbean) Limited, which has been contracted to undertake the construction of the Halls of Justice, are expected to address a range of pertinent issues associated with the construction.
The NH representatives are expected to furnish the media with a background and overview of the project while elaborating on its health and safety commitment. The scope of works as well as timelines and construction milestones are expected to form a major part of Thursday’s presentation.
The local media houses are also expected to be afforded to opportunity to ask a number of burning questions associated with the construction of this huge project.
The total construction cost is reported to be approximately $143 million dollars and is expected to house some 14 courts. These court rooms are reportedly designed to hear civil, family and criminal cases. The facility will also boast accommodation for 18 judicial officers, 9 judges and 9 magistrates.
Since its announcement, the proposed addition to the justice system has drawn comments from a wide cross section of the island.
