Saint Lucia is gearing up to host the highly anticipated 2025 CAC Fit Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships, scheduled for September 26 and 27.
This prestigious two-day event will take place at the Pavilion in Rodney Bay, kicking off with the preliminaries and semi-finals on September 26, followed by the grand finale on September 27.
Over 250 athletes from approximately 25 countries across South and Central America and the Caribbean, including Saint Lucia, will compete fiercely for medals in their respective categories, all while aiming for the overall Team Championships.
On the domestic front, the National Bodybuilding & Fitness Association is intensifying its efforts to prepare local athletes with a rigorous training regimen. The NBFA says the local athletes are primed to excel in the male and female categories at the upcoming Central American and Caribbean Championships.
A spokesperson for the NBFA confidently stated, “Our technical team is prepared to showcase our athletes’ capabilities.”

To bolster the national representation, the association has recently welcomed CACBBF-accredited FIT bodybuilding and physique coaching specialist Shakira Dublin to enhance the training of the athletes. Strong competitors from regional powerhouses such as Barbados, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, and Antigua & Barbuda, as well as Latin American giants including Venezuela, Puerto Rico, El Salvador, and Nicaragua, are set to field their best teams, all vying for the coveted inter-regional team championship title.
With an impressive 25 athletes ready to participate in various categories, Saint Lucia enjoys the home advantage, allowing them to field a strong contingent crucial for success in the final standings.
Having demonstrated exceptional performances in previous championships, including in Guyana, the technical team is optimistic that securing the championship title is within reach.
Saint Lucia’s Fitness Challenge contingent, primarily from the Soufriere Fitness Center, includes Shani Mesmain , Gracious Octave, Levi Edward , and Nick Cyprian , ensuring strong representation across various categories.
The event will also feature a children’s fitness category, with the technical staff finalizing the team soon.
Former OECS and national Fit and Bikini model champion Velda John will enhance the Fitness Challenge team’s prospects.
The Fitness Challenge event is set for September 26 at the Pavilion, and we invite the public to attend free of charge. The Ministry of Sports and the National Bodybuilding & Fitness Association urge all Saint Lucians to come out and support “our national team” in this prestigious upcoming event.
Let’s show our unwavering dedication!
