DEFENDING champions Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC) once again proved their supremacy in the 2025 Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Under-19 Schools Cricket competition, confidently securing a 97-run victory over the Saint Lucia Sports Academy (SLSA) in the finals at Mindoo Philip Park this week. 

SALCC set the tone by batting first and posting a formidable total of 245 for 5 in 36 overs. The team’s captain, Leon Alexander, led from the front with a commanding knock of 56 (3 fours, 2 sixes). Significant contributions came from Johnathan Daniel (48), Darvin Forde (30), Azarni Augustin (22), and Yunieski Gustave (11), showcasing the depth of their batting lineup.

For SLSA, Zinnaki Louis bowled effectively, claiming 2 for 26, while Clint Dickson added 1 for 43. The remaining wickets were shared among Nathaniel Joseph, Jashun Mitchel, and Sheldon Willie.

In their chase, SLSA faltered early, losing wickets at a rapid pace. Sheldon Willie made a spirited effort, top-scoring with 47, followed by Clint Dickson with 27. Additional contributions came from Zinnaki Louis (17) and Nathaniel Joseph (16), but SLSA managed only 148 for 7.

SALCC’s bowling attack, spearheaded by Tyler Venner, who secured 2 for 14, was relentless. Darvin Forde, along with twin brothers Yunieski and Yulieski Gustave, Christian Peter, and Johnathan Daniel, each claimed a wicket, sealing the game for their side.

Leon Alexander’s stellar performance earned him the MVP title of the Finals for his influential 56 runs.

– Most Runs: Leon Alexander (SALCC) with 380 runs.

– Most Wickets: Darvin Forde (SALCC) with 19 wickets.

– Total Centuries Scored: 8, with notable performances from: – Khan Elcock (SALCC) scoring 193 against Soufriere Comprehensive Secondary School.

Zhanni Joseph (SALCC) with an unbeaten 152 against Stanley Jon TVET.

Tyler Venner (SALCC) with scores of 148* against Leon Hess Comprehensive and 107* against Stanley Jon TVET.

Leon Alexander (SALCC) with 130 against Stanley John TVET and 120 against SCSS.

– Johnathan Daniel (SALCC) with 109* against Stanley Jon TVET.

Daniel Lorde (Castries Comprehensive Secondary) with 107* against Corinth Secondary.

– Best Bowling Figures: Aiden Scholar (LHCSS) with an impressive 8 for 15.

– Highest Individual Score: Khan Elcock (SALCC) with 193 against Soufriere Comprehensive Secondary.

– Runners-up Trophy and Silver Medal: Saint Lucia Sports Academy.

– Championship Trophy and Gold Medal: Sir Arthur Lewis Community College.
