
With only weeks remaining before the highly anticipated CARIFTA Aquatic Championships in Trinidad and Tobago (T&T), regional teams, including Saint Lucia’s top swimmers, are preparing intensively for the demanding regional circuit meet.
Approximately 350 swimmers from 24 clubs-including teams from Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Georgia (USA), Guyana, Martinique, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, and host Saint Lucia-are set to compete in the 25th edition of the Rodney Heights Aquatic Centre (RHAC) Invitational Swimming Championships, scheduled for April 10 to 13.
The event will begin on Thursday evening, April 10, featuring key events such as the 1500 meters Freestyle, 50 meters Backstroke, 400 meters Individual Medley (IM), and 100 meters Butterfly.
With T&T hosting the 52nd edition of the CARIFTA Aquatic Championships, expectations are high for the region’s elite swimmers to refine their skills in preparation for the upcoming championships.
Participating clubs from Saint Lucia include Lightning Aquatic, RR Aquatic, Seajays, Sharks, Southern Flying Fish, and RHAC.
